We established the Campaign for Orchards Children to fund numerous community programs critical to childhood development not covered by State funding.  Campaign funds will also be utilized to address the differential between total costs for foster care, adoption and family preservation and what the State covers, currently between 70-80%.   Our initial goal is to raise two million dollars by 2012.

Program Service opportunities: Goal $1.3M

Program services directly linked to the community make up the majority of Campaign Funding. Education areas include Learn2Learn, tutoring and arts education. Recreation opportunities include Summer Adventures including camp and baseball programs. Dental assistance, My Smile Matters, Orchards Youth Board, Horizons Program, Mission Transition, Independent Living and Career Connections are also included.

Also included are dollars for foster care and adoption costs over government funding, and Family Preservation including Families First, Kinship Support Services, Post Adoption, Youth in Transition, Removal Prevention Early Return.

Capital Opportunities: Goal $250,000

Opportunities include expansion of current facilities as well as relocation to expanded or enhanced location in all communities we serve. Building of new facilities is also included for community programs such as baseball, summer camp and improvements of facilities such as family visitation areas.

Scholarship Opportunities: Goal $300,000

Opportunities include scholarship funding for children in the areas of educational and career tutoring as well as assistance to defray costs for needy families and children.

Endowment Opportunities: Goal $150,000

Opportunities for endowment to provide ongoing stream of income to take advantage of future program and capital needs and to cement permanent viability of the Orchards in times of negative government support.

Through the generosity of many caring people and organizations, Orchards will continue to offer the highest quality services to people who need it most. That is in a child’s best interests. That is in the community’s best interests.
